Boating on the Kinneret, Kefar Kedem, and Chavot Yair

Another fabulous day with the Kohns... Boats, donkeys, ATV's...Oh my!

We began our day with another delicious Israeli breakfast at our hotel at Kefar Blum, checked out and headed back down south. We stopped in Tiberias, where it was VERY VERY HOT, and stopped for Yehuda to rent a motor boat and take the kids out for a spin. The boat could only hold 5 so I sat out and then Benjamin decided to keep me company.

Next we headed for Hashaya and went to Kefar Kedem. Kefar Kedem is a village that recreates the time of the Mishna. We dressed in the clothing of the times, milked a goat and made fresh cheese, made pita bread, and rode donkeys. All the fruit growing on the trees were from the Shiv'at Ha'Minim. Except for the ridiculously high price, we had a great time. My cousins Yael and Aaron Rigler and their kids (who live on the next mountain over at Beit Rimon) met us.

Together, we proceeded to go to my cousin Michal's house for a BBQ. She lives in the Shomron in one of the occupied territories. It doesn't appear on the map because it is not sanctioned by he government and the army can come in at any time and knock down the houses. They live in a tiny caravan at the top of a mountain with 30 families and are now building a house. It is so quiet and so beautiful. Dinner was delicious, and it was amazing to see all of the kids playing together with no language barriers. What an amazing experience. We had to come down the mountain as a caravan with someone armed leading us to the main highway....

We got home at midnight, and needless to say, we all collapsed!
