Migdal David and Jerusalem Artist's Festival
August 5, 2010
We started our day with a laid back morning after the exhaustion of the week. The kids slept until after 10 (as did I). We then proceeded to go to the Old City to do the Migdal David Museum---and the boys also LOVE the Old City. After getting stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours on the 5 minute drive to the parking garage. We decided to abort our mission. There was crazy gridlock and the lots in the area were all full.
So...we headed back towards Ben Yehuda Street, parked in a lot there, ate a pizza lunch at Big Apple Pizza, and met our cousin Buddy for ice cream.
After, we walked to the Old City ( we certainly were not moving our car again!) and went to the Migdal David Museum. The kids loved running around through the tunnels, on the promenade and through all of the different rooms. After a delicious picnic dinner of Burger's Bar on a planter in the Rova, we met Yehuda's cousins Ahuva and Yac (guitar and harmonica in hand) at the Jerusalem Artist's Festival. It was very cool. They had performers, food, and artist's from all around the world. The kids enjoyed and, once again, we arrived at our apartment after 11 PM. After QUICK hot baths and showers they were asleep instantly!
